Haul out your tie-dyes, bellbottoms and love beads and get ready for WOOFSTOCK '08. We will celebrate peace, love and pets all day, in every way, at the Salon Social Building and outdoor Pavilion in the Ejido.

The music portion of the event is being produced by DC native Derek Wille, a superb producer/songwriter/ recording artist, who has recorded/played/produced for CHER, CARLY SIMON, CHIC, Joao Mendonca, PK Dos and James Burton and co-produced by Entertainer Denny “Moondogg” Flannigan. The huge bill includes MERITXELL PROJECT (pronounced Mod-a-chel), a spicy Latin jazzy/rock/pop band from Washington D.C. and VATOS LOCOS, a smokin’ Hot local San Felipe Blues Band. The musical portion will also proudly feature the HAL RADINSKY QUARTET, a jazz swing vocal band featuring 82 year young singing sensation, Hal Radinsky, THIRD GENERATION, our very own incredibly popular San Felipe local pop/rock pharmacy band, the FLUYE FAMILY, an edgy and provocative East Coast Reggaeton group with a message, and last but certainly not least, San Felipe’s own AGAVE BLUES BAND, a fabulous Bluesy/Funk Band.

And there’s more……throughout the day and into the evening, you will also enjoy 5 awesome, spicy, over-the-top, stand up comedians from the Comedy Store on Sunset in Los Angeles, featuring Headliner DANTE from last season’s hit NBC Show “Last Comic Standing.” Joining Dante is David Burger, a white, Jewish, Aryan looking comic who speaks Spanish and is from South Central L.A., the very very funny Ellenore Kerrigan, the outrageous ElJay, and Mark Ellis, our comic host and standup comic as well.

Also on WOOFSTOCK’s menu that day is a Classic Car & Motorcycle Show presented by La Familia from Mexicali, “Puppy Love Speed Dating Adoptions", and loads of tie-dying for the kids. What would WOOFSTOCK be without a ’69 Volkswagen Bus named “Moondogg” donated by local entertainer Denny Flannigan that will be used for a “hippie style” painting contest, a Canine Beauty Pageant, a Hot Dog Eating Contest, local artists presenting their masterpieces, a silent auction featuring animal related items only, and lots of photographers so you can pose with you “pooch or pussy cat” at the opening ceremony and Pet Parade. Lots of food and beverages will be on hand too.

A 7 day, $1535 all expense paid round trip for two on Carnival Cruise Lines leaving from Long Beach, CA to the Mexican Riviera is being raffled as we speak---and lots of other fun stuff to do and participate in will all help SFAR to raise $30,000 for spaying and neutering in the upcoming year. Raffle tickets are $1 and tickets to the Comedy Show and Music Festival are $20 in advance and are available online, and the El Dorado Swap Meet---also at local merchants, the SFAR Segunda and lots of other San Felipe locations. Watch for posters and flyers as the season progresses.

WOOFSTOCK is completely funded by private donations and won’t cost SFAR a penny! I repeat, not a penny! 100% of the money raised will go directly to SFAR’s Spay/Neuter Project. WOOFSTOCK ‘08 is being totally produced and organized by volunteers.
